Since God “called” me, in December of 2001, to create the first Sculpture Prayer Garden, in Kerrville, Texas, He also “called” thousands of other Christians to pray for the project and its ultimate goal to bring glory and millions of souls to Jesus Christ. 

Over the years, by the grace of God, many distinguished Christians have prayed over the ambitious evangelistic project.  These well known Christians have included the late Dr. Bill Bright, Dr. Pat Robertson, Franklin Graham, Dr. Frank Wright, Alan Sears, Tony Perkins, Dr. Charles Stanley, Ken Hagin Jr., Mahesh Chavda, Bill Johnson, Graham Cooke, Chuck Pierce, Rodney Howard-Browne, Dr. Bill Frist, Coach Bill McCartney, Dr. Paul Crouch, Dr. Rick Warren and Joni and Marcus Lamb, to name just a few.

On April 3, 2008, the Holy Spirit sent three special guests to pray on the mountain in Kerrville, for the completion of the first Garden.  They included Mark Conklin, Vice-President of Training at Chick-fil-a, Frank Harrison, CEO of Coco Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated, and Dr. James Dobson, founder of Focus on the Family.  The men called me and asked if they could see my artwork and the Garden, while in the area.  God is great!

I was able to share the entire project with the Christian leaders and several other guests, late Thursday afternoon, at the “Lion of Judah”TM Fortress, which overlooks the interstate highway and the Kerrville valley.  Dr. Dobson prayed for the Garden project, its completion and evangelistic goals, as we all held hands.

Later, at the foot of the future 77’7” cross, Sherry and I were able to privately pray for Dr. Dobson.  We thanked him, for all the millions of people  who would like to be standing there with us, for all he had done during his lifetime.  We thanked God for his integrity and transparency that has allowed the light of Jesus Christ to shine through so brightly.  Sherry and I prayed for his continued anointing, blessing, protection and health.  Then, Sherry looked Dr. Dobson in the eye and spoke more words of blessing over him.  It was good.

The Coming King TM Foundation is now moving into a “new season”, as we make plans to complete the construction of the first Garden on Interstate 10.  The original seven member  Board of Trustees, which guided the foundation so well since its inception on May 6, 2004, is now “passing the baton” to a new larger group of Trustees and Committee Members.  These Christians God have been prepared by God to “take the land”.

At this time, we are believing God will send the foundation the $500,000 that is still needed to raise the 77’7” tall cross sculpture.  “The Empty Cross” TM is an open, red-brown Cor-tin steel sculpture that symbolizes the “Light of the world”, the “Narrow gate” and the “Resurrection.”  If funds are donated soon, the cross can go up this summer.  And, if another two million dollars is donated, the Garden can be opened to the public, with first class concrete roads, parking lots and park-style restrooms. Pray!

Up to this point, God has provided everything we have needed, to obey Him and build the Garden as He has directed.  The very valuable 23 acres of land was donated by the Hershel Reid family.  Six monumental, bronze sculptures are being provided by my family.  The Monte Paddleford family is donating at least three of Beverly Paddleford’s Christ-honoring bronze sculptures.  We expect in the future, that other Christian sculptors will donate their work too, once the Garden is open. 

Almost two million dollars worth of sculptures have been committed to the Kerrville Garden already.  We believe this Garden park will attract millions of visitors from across the nation and world.  Many will be “saved” and others will find a deeper relationship with God, because of their visit to the Kerrville Garden.
