Max’s newest project, The Coming King Sculpture Garden here in Kerrville, is now underway, thanks to all of our kind donors.  We want to give a heart felt thanks to everyone who believed in the project enough to donate towards the effort.  We are especially grateful to one VERY significantly generous (and  unidentified) donor, who immediately recognized the incredible  impact the Garden would have on the thousands who visit it.  The Sculpture Prayer Garden is, without a doubt, going to be a soul-changing experience.

What began as an overlooked, unassuming piece of land, which is daily passed-by unnoticed on
I-10, will soon become one of the most magnificent witness tools ever designed. It is our hope and dream that multitudes of lives will be changed forever, because of it.

To everyone else who traveled past this property, it was just another cedar clustered piece of land, but to Max it was so much more.  He envisioned what it could be; what God wanted it to become.  It soon became obvious to all that this was his daily goal. He became driven and almost obsessed with trying to find some way to obtain the piece of property.  This was all I ever heard about from morning ‘til night.  Sometimes, even in his sleep, Max would roll over and mumble something about the Garden. It became obvious to me that this was clearly a goal he would doggedly pursue until its completion.  No human being on this planet would be able to drag Max away from something he was certain God had inspired him to do.  Thus, this is how the Sculpture Prayer Garden all came about.  Stay tuned for some really exciting things which have already happened on the “mountain.”

This past August Max and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. We went to the beach at Padre Island , where we also had the wonderful opportunity of meeting Franklin Graham during one his crusades.  A group of Corpus Christi Pastors, invited us to present a bronze to Franklin Graham, at a luncheon held in his honor.  The bronze was a token of appreciation, given to him by the area pastors.  It was such an honor to meet so humble of a giant-warrior in the Christian faith.  His ministry is breathtaking and definitely anointed.

When a guest comes to visit us, it is not unusual to see a deer poke its head through the sliding glass door, a cute rabbit run past us, our turkey, Big Bird, demanding special attention, an acrobatic raccoon standing up, begging for another handful of food, or a whining porcupine trying to bully his way into position, to be next in the chow line.  These sights are a daily, customary routine at our house.

What can I say?  It is so great to live in the woods!  The sights, sounds, smells, and animals in nature are just too incredible to describe. It is just an overwhelming sensory experience, and at times, it seems almost unreal.  How special it is to have such a unique partnership with all the grand and glorious wonders our God has created for our enjoyment.  How special it is to know the individual animal personalities, the different likes and dislikes, and all the personal preferences of each creature, who frequents our back door.  I find it to be almost intoxicating to touch, pet, hug, and even kiss some of these animals.  By merely touching and holding these wild creatures, it sometimes feels as though I have been graciously allowed to enter into a heavenly place and almost “touch” or hug God, Himself.  I can’t help but think of the incredible beauty, happiness, joy and peace, which transcends all human and earthly knowledge.

As the British poet, William Blake, once wrote, “It is an overwhelming and spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings.”   For I know without a doubt, that God has definitely given me the "desires of my heart."
