Wet Paint - UPWARD

Back in 2004, God lead Caz McCaslin to contact Max Greiner, Jr. regarding creating a special sculpture for his ministry, Upward Unlimited, of Spartanburg, South Carolina.  Upward is a national ministry, which uses youth sports leagues to instill Godly values in children, and to introduce them to Jesus Christ.  Caz, the founder, recognized that Max’s “Divine Servant”® sculpture represented his ministry, which served Jesus by serving children.

Normally, Max is not able to accept special commissions due to his workload.  However, after praying, the Artist felt God wanted him to do this special project, which began with a sculpture of a coach tieing the shoe of a little girl, holding a basketball.  Just like Jesus, in “Divine Servant”®, the coach in the composition is kneeling down to serve others.

This theme has now been sculpted in 1/6 life-size and life-size bronze sculptures, called “Upward”.  The
life-size bronze is now being cast at Eagle Bronze, Max’s art foundry in Lander, Wyoming.  Greiner has also created special, custom Medallions for the ministry’s use.  The artwork reminds viewers of the work Upward Unlimited commitment to serve, and the Lord, Jesus Christ.
